Racine

Creative documentary (in French only)

Pitch Fifteen young stage actors attend a worshop on 17th century French poet Jean Racine, directed by Anne Delbée. Through the play Andromache, she clearly criticizes the dusty visions about Racine nowadays and wishes to take the students to the point afterall: Andromache is a play about love and death.
Guided by her intimate and passionate knowledge, the students literally dive into the poet’s universe. It’s also an opportunity to take over a diction, a certain way of acting, and to incarnate burning characters without putting aside the emotions and the strength of a plaidoyer. Struggle for power, rebellion and erotism, all shining out from this tragedy and showing Andromache as a 21st century heroine.

With writer director Anne Delbée & the students Arnaud Agnel, Aurélien Ambach Albertini, Clémence Azincourt, Fanny Bayard, Charlotte Bertoldi, Anthony Diaz, Marie Filippi, Carine Goron, Maxime Guyon, Ariane Heuzé, Lisa Hours, Yann Lesvenan, Adrien Mauduit, David Scattolin, Antoine Suarez-Pazos
